Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Andover is recruiting a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels on a rotating shift, 33.50 hours per week across Monday to Sunday, with some weekend work. You will be walking and driving to complete on-route deliveries in Andover.

You will receive full training, a uniform, and a Royal Mail van. The role requires a full UK driving licence, willingness to drive, and physical fitness to handle mailbags and weather conditions.

Location: Andover Delivery Office, SP10 1AA

Job type: Fixed Term contract(6 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 33.50 hours per week - working (5) days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 07:15/15:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work 1 in 10 Sundays between 08:30-14:30 at AndoverDelivery Office.

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
