Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Londonderry is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a permanent contract. You will sort, deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, working 30 hours per week across five days, with weekend rotas and early/late shifts.

You must hold a full manual UK driving licence, be physically fit to walk long distances, and enjoy working outdoors. The role includes overtime and benefits.

Job type: Permanent contract

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 30:00 hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - Earliest Start: 08:00/Latest Finish: 18:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You may be required to work Sundays as per the rota.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:
