Job summary

Royal Mail is looking for a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Camberley to join our delivery team. You will sort and deliver letters and parcels, walking or driving a Royal Mail van while building relationships with customers on your local route.

The role operates on a rotating shift pattern, including weekends, with full training and a uniform supplied. The position is a permanent contract, 37 hours per week, on a 5-days-in-7 rota (11:00–20:00).

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift/carry 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.
You’ll be required to work Sundays at Goldsworth Park Delivery Office 1 every 4 weeks.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags

• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
