Job summary

Ballymore is recruiting a Post Room Operative for Embassy Gardens in London. The role involves handling deliveries and enquiries in person, by email, and by phone, while following SOPs and safety procedures.

You will help manage the loading bay and courier interactions, ensuring secure post room operations and timely dispatches. Hours are an average of 42.5 per week on a rota basis across Monday to Saturday with Early and Late shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in a residential post room/loading bay environment is beneficial but not essential.
• Positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated outlook with high levels of customer service.
• Ability to work on your own initiative whilst being part of a team.

Responsibilities

• To ensure all delivery/dispatch requests and enquiries are handled efficiently in a timely and professional manner.
• Implement Health & Safety for post room operations in line with SOPs and legislation.
• Ensure the post room is secured at all times and unauthorized access is challenged.
• Liaise with management regarding deliveries to/from the site and available delivery/dispatch windows.
• Ensure all deliveries/dispatches are carried out timely and professionally.
• Regularly check the loading bay to keep it clean, safe and hazard-free.
• Handle hazardous deliveries (e.g., chemicals) as per SOP/local instruction and notify Facilities Manager if high risk.
• Cover concierge breaks if needed.
• Provide a full audit of Parcels monthly.
• Build positive relationships with courier companies.

We're now recruiting for a Post Room Operative to join us at Embassy Gardens.

What You Should Know

Ballymore is a family owned business, with over 40 years in establishment – we are remarked as an innovative and dynamic property developer citing over 80 awards. At present, we're managing 11,000 homes across 12 luxury residential developments in London and are in search of a Post Room Operative to join us at Embassy Gardens in contributing to our vision.

Important to Note

Hours: Average of 42.5 per week, on a rota basis across Monday to Saturday (working X2 Saturdays per month)

Shift Pattern: Early - 8:00 - 17:30 & Late - 11:30 - 21:00

Location: SE11 Vauxhall

Contract: 42.5 hpw/permanent

What You'll Do

• To ensure that all delivery/dispatch requests and enquiries (both in person, via email and by telephone) are dealt with efficiently in a timely and professional manner adhering to the relevant process and movement log sheet on every occasion.
• To implement Health & Safety for post room operations, adhering to current standard operating procedures and legislation
• To ensure the post room is secured at all times with any unauthorised access challenged & dealt with in an appropriate manner.
• To liaise with management at all times in relation to requests for deliveries to & from the site via the loading bay and advising on available windows for deliveries/dispatches
• To ensure that all deliveries/dispatches are carried out in a timely and professional manner at all times.
• To carry out regular checks to ensure the loading bay area is kept in a clean, safe and free from hazard environment. Any fluid spills are to be attended to immediately.
• To ensure all hazardous deliveries, such as chemicals for plant rooms, are dealt with as detailed in the specified SOP/local instruction. In any case where there is a high risk due to the nature of the delivery – the Facilities Manager is to be notified for guidance/assistance.
• Help cover concierge breaks if needed.
• Able to give full audit of Parcels monthly.
• Build a positive relationship with courier companies.
