Job summary

SEND Inclusion Support is recruiting a Post-16 SEND Mentor in South Molton to work with an established Nurture Teacher, supporting a young person with complex needs. You will focus on building a relationship, engagement and helping the young person gain confidence and independence.

The role emphasizes 1:1 engagement, safeguarding and collaboration with a wider SEND team to provide specialist support and practical learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Extensive 1:1 SEND support experience.
• Experience supporting young people with SEND is essential.
• HLTA or equivalent SEND experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support for one young person.
• Work with the Nurture Teacher to follow the plan and focus on engagement.
• Develop the young person’s confidence and independence.
• Support practical and community-based learning and transition planning.
