Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting for a Post-16 support role based at County Hall, Glenfield. You will work with young people, families, schools, colleges and partners to deliver clear planning, inclusive practice and preparation for adulthood.

The role requires experience supporting young people with SEND, strong communication and organisational skills, and a Level 3 qualification or equivalent. DBS enhanced check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people, families or education settings, and working with young people with SEND who are Year 9 and above.
• Understanding of post-16 education, SEND, inclusion or PfA.
• Clear communication, listening and problem-solving skills.
• Good organisation and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Safeguarding and inclusion awareness.
• Ability to travel across Leicestershire.

Responsibilities

• Support post-16 planning, transition and positive next steps with young people, families, schools and providers.
• Help plans reflect aspirations, needs and preparation for adulthood.
• Identify young people at risk of disengagement, NEET or placement breakdown and contribute to reviews and quality improvement.
