Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting for a permanent role within the Post-16 team at County Hall. You will support post-16 planning, transition and positive next steps for young people, working with families, schools, colleges and partners to ensure clear planning and preparation for adulthood.

The role requires understanding of SEND, PfA, strong communication and organisational skills, and willingness to travel across Leicestershire.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people, families or education settings within SEND contexts.
• Understanding of post-16 education, SEND, inclusion or PfA.
• Clear communication, listening and problem-solving skills.
• Good organisation and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Saf safeguarding and inclusion awareness.
• Ability to travel across Leicestershire.

Responsibilities

• Support post-16 planning, transition and positive next steps.
• Work with young people, families, schools, colleges and providers.
• Help plans reflect aspirations, needs and preparation for adulthood.
• Identify young people at risk of disengagement, NEET or placement breakdown.
• Offer practical advice and contribute to reviews and quality improvement.
