Job summary

Academics Ltd in Woking is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to support children with behavioural and SEND needs across Foundation Stage to Key Stage 2. The role involves 1:1 and small group support, building emotional regulation and positive engagement.

You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored strategies, maintain a calm learning environment, and promote wellbeing throughout the school day. Term-time hours apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting children with behavioural or emotional needs preferred.
• Experience providing 1:1 and small group support.
• Interest in SEND and inclusive education.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with behavioural and SEND needs, helping them regulate emotions and participate fully in class.
• Implement tailored behaviour management strategies to meet individual pupil needs.
• Collaborate with teachers to maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support with de-escalation and proactive management of challenging behaviour.
• Work alongside the SENCO, teaching staff, and parents to create and review individualised support plans.
• Promote wellbeing and safety during lessons, breaktimes, and school activities.
