Engage Education is recruiting a Positive Behaviour Assistant for a full-time role at an all-through school in Lancing, supporting pupils with SEMH needs across primary and secondary settings. You will work flexibly across phases, building positive relationships and using de-escalation techniques to help pupils stay engaged in learning.

The ideal candidate will have enthusiasm for mentoring pupils, resilience in challenging situations, and excellent communication.

Qualificações

• Resilience and confidence to work with pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
• Ability to remain calm in difficult or unpredictable situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships and rapport with pupils.
• Proactive in supporting pupils and thinking on their feet.
• Adaptable to different daily demands in a specialist setting.
• Experience with SEMH/challenging behaviour desirable but not essential.

Responsabilidades

• Support pupils across primary and secondary settings with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Work flexibly across age groups according to school needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships and be a consistent role model for pupils.
• Use strategies to support distressed or dysregulated pupils, including de-escalation.
• Support positive behaviour and keep pupils engaged in learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to minimise disruption.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence.
• Provide feedback to teachers and school team about pupil progress.
