Job description

Allianz Personal Broker has a new opportunity for a Portfolio Underwriter. You can work from our Birmingham or London offices on a hybrid basis.

As our Portfolio Underwriter, you will contribute to the delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through underwriting and analysis of relevant market products, maintaining high technical standards, and building relationships with internal and external customers. Our team handles complex portfolios, upholding underwriting authority and delivering excellent service.

You will participate in the Global P&C Academy accreditation, enhancing skills in underwriting, risk engineering, pricing, and claims management, while exchanging best practices across the Allianz Group. For pricing roles, Allianz Insurance offers a study package to support actuarial qualifications through the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK.

Salary Information

About You

• Manage key brokers, underwriting rules, data analytics, and reporting
• Review incoming business quality and ensure underwriting integrity
• Use statistical data to evaluate broker performance and present recommendations
• Attend strategic account meetings with brokers
• Collaborate with Sales, Pricing, Claims, and Operations teams
• Apply skills in Pricing and Underwriting to write profitable risks
• Strong data interpretation skills
• Proficiency in SQL or similar languages
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Experience in a general insurer environment managing portfolios and KPIs
• Understanding of insurance regulation and legislation
• Account management and stakeholder negotiation skills
• Experience with Willis Towers Watson software such as Radar
