Job summary

SSE Renewables is seeking a senior commercial lead to maximise value across Capacity Market and system services for Great Britain and Ireland. You will coordinate across development, operations, finance, and regulatory teams to protect revenue and ensure eligibility and compliance for assets totaling over 2GW.

Base locations include Perth, Glasgow, Inverness, Aberdeen, Reading, Belfast or Dublin with at least 50% of time in these locations; permanent, full-time with flexible options and a

• Experience managing complex commercial, contractual, regulatory or compliance-driven processes.
• Strong knowledge of electricity markets, energy regulation and related frameworks.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and meet fixed deadlines.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with a proactive approach to driving outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead qualification, application and auction activities across Capacity Market and system services schemes, ensuring submissions are completed accurately and on time.
• Manage contractual, regulatory and operational obligations to protect revenue streams and minimise commercial and compliance risk.
• Coordinate multiple stakeholders across development, operational and commercial teams to ensure assets remain eligible, compliant and operationally ready.
• Develop and maintain robust governance, assurance and reporting processes, ensuring all activities are fully documented and audit ready.
• Identify opportunities to enhance commercial performance through optimisation activities, market participation strategies and risk management initiatives.
