Job summary

The Carlyle Group is seeking an exceptional technology operating executive with CTO-level experience to act across a portfolio of European mid-market B2B software and SaaS businesses. You will partner with management teams and deal teams to shape technology value-creation plans from due diligence through hold and exit.

This is not a single-company role: you will coach portfolio CTOs, drive scalable product architecture, cloud and data initiatives, and establish reusable playbooks while ensuring

Qualifications

• 15+ years of senior technology leadership experience (CTO / VP Engineering / equivalent)
• Experience scaling B2B SaaS mid-market businesses
• Deep expertise across modern SaaS architecture, cloud, data platforms, and AI in the SDLC
• Ability to deliver through partners and lean teams in a leveraged operating model
• Comfort operating across multiple companies, geographies and cultures in a European B2B context

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technology value-creation agendas across portfolio companies.
• Support technical diligence on new investments and translate findings into actionable plans.
• Build and manage a network of third-party technology partners to enable execution without large internal headcount.
• Coach portfolio CTOs and engineering leaders; help recruit and upgrade leadership.
• Establish reusable playbooks, benchmarks and best practices; drive cross-portfolio knowledge sharing.
• Position technology assets for exit by articulating the equity story and evidencing scalability.
