Job summary

In2 Saas Recruitment is assisting an AI-driven Healthcare SaaS platform in appointing a CTO to lead global engineering, product infrastructure, and security. The role requires scaling 40+ engineers across Europe, setting the technical vision and ensuring secure, compliant architecture.

You will drive cloud-native strategies on AWS, manage data privacy and ISO 27001/GDPR compliance, and oversee engineering, DevOps, QA, and security organizations while partnering with product to balance debt

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering leadership roles within B2B SaaS.
• Experience with healthcare tech or highly regulated data environments (ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR).
• Strong hands-on background with microservices and cloud deployment.

Responsibilities

• Architect and drive technology strategy for a multi-tenant SaaS platform on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Oversee data privacy, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and healthcare regulatory compliance.
• Lead engineering, DevOps, QA, and security teams; balance tech debt with feature delivery.
• Collaborate with product to align technical roadmap with business goals.
• Act as tech authority for due diligence in funding rounds and M&A.

Company Overview

We have been retained by an AI-driven Healthcare SaaS platform that empowers health trusts, private medical providers, and clinical research organizations to automate clinical workflows and patient monitoring. Backed by top-tier European healthcare VCs, the business is scaling rapidly and seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer to lead their global engineering, product infrastructure, and security teams.

Position Overview

The CTO will serve as a core member of the Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO. You will define the long-term technical vision, scale high-performing engineering teams (currently 40+ engineers across Europe), and ensure the architecture remains secure, compliant (HIPAA/GDPR), and highly scalable.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and drive the technology strategy for a multi-tenant, cloud-native SaaS platform built on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Oversee data privacy, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and healthcare regulatory compliance requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and expand engineering, DevOps, QA, and security organizations.
• Work alongside the Chief Product Officer to balance technical debt reduction with aggressive feature delivery roadmaps.
• Act as the technical authority during due diligence for future funding rounds and strategic M&A activities.

Key Requirements

• 10+ yearsin software engineering leadership roles (VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, CTO) within B2B SaaS.
• Explicit background in Healthcare Tech, MedTech, or highly regulated data environments (ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR).
• Strong hands-on background with microservices architecture, Python/Node.js, cloud deployment (AWS/Azure), and AI/ML model integration.
• Demonstrated track record of scaling engineering organizations from 30 to 100+ team members.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
