Job summary

Circle Health Group is hiring a Porter at The Beardwood Hospital in Blackburn. The role is 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis, with a shift pattern 0600-1400 or 1000-1800, and occasional weekend coverage.

Responsibilities include moving patients and goods, assisting with direction and information for patients, and maintaining patient comfort and dignity while providing courteous service. Prior experience in healthcare/hospitality is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Front line customer facing experience is required.
• GCSE maths and English at A–C (or equivalent) evidence.
• Proficiency with a PC and hospital systems.

We have an opportunity for a Porter to join their team of staff in thePorteringdepartment.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern. Shift pattern will be 0600 - 1400 or 1000 - 1800.

There may be the requirement for infrequent Saturday shift cover 1000 - 1800 and Sunday 0700 – 1500.

Duties Of This Role Include

• Undertake a range of general and ad hoc tasks on a day-to-day basis to meet the requirements of the site such as patient, equipment, and goods (e.g., pharmacy goods) movement.
• Explain hospital facilities and services to patients and family members when escorting people to rooms or other hospital areas.
• Provide a courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity are always maintained.
• Provide security for the facility as required within each specific hospital, ensuring compliance of security processes and external patrols are covered as appropriate to the hospital.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

• Front line customer facing experience.
• Previous portering experience in a healthcare, hotel or hospitality setting would be beneficial.
• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
