Job summary

Circle Health Group’s Lincoln Private Hospital is recruiting a Porter on a 12 month fixed term contract. This full‑time role is 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern, Monday to Saturday, based in Lincoln.

Duties include moving patients, equipment and pharmacy goods, guiding patients to rooms, delivering a courteous service, and helping ensure patient comfort and dignity. Front line customer facing experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Front line customer facing experience.
• Portering experience in healthcare, hotel or hospitality setting would be beneficial.
• Maths, English GCSEs at grades A to C or equivalent.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including hospital systems.

Responsibilities

• Move patients, equipment and goods (e.g., pharmacy goods) around the site.
• Escort patients to rooms or other hospital areas and explain facilities and services.
• Provide courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity are maintained.
• Provide security for the facility and assist with security processes as required.
• Complete all relevant mandatory training.

Salary: £24,947.00 per year

Lincoln Private Hospital is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Porter to join their team of staff in the Portering department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Candidates will work from Monday - Saturday.

Duties of this role include:

• Undertake a range of general and ad hoc tasks on a day-to-day basis to meet the requirements of the site such as patient, equipment, and goods (e.g., pharmacy goods) movement.

• Explain hospital facilities and services to patients and family members when escorting people to rooms or other hospital areas.

• Provide a courteous service to internal and external customers.

• Ensure patient comfort and dignity are always maintained.

• Provide security for the facility as required within each specific hospital, ensuring compliance of security processes and external patrols are covered as appropriate to the hospital.

• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Front line customer facing experience.

• Previous portering experience in a healthcare, hotel or hospitality setting would be beneficial.

• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.

• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
