Job summary

Circle Health Group's Werndale Hospital in Carmarthen is seeking a Porter to join the Portering team on a 30-hour per week, permanent basis. The role requires flexible shifts and involves moving patients, equipment and goods around the site.

You will greet and assist patients and visitors, help maintain patient comfort and dignity, and support site security and accessibility. Previous portering experience in healthcare or hospitality is beneficial, and a PC basic skillset is expected.

• Portering experience in healthcare, hotel or hospitality setting beneficial.
• Proficiency with PC; basic software/systems knowledge expected.

Responsibilities

• Move patients, equipment and goods around site (e.g., pharmacy goods).

• Provide courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity at all times.
• Provide security for the facility and assist with patrols as needed.
• Complete mandatory training and stay compliant.

Werndale Hospital in Carmarthen is part of Circle Health Group , Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Porter to join their team of staff in the Portering department.

This is a part time role for 30 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Undertake a range of general and ad hoc tasks on a day-to-day basis to meet the requirements of the site such as patient, equipment, and goods (e.g., pharmacy goods) movement.
• Explain hospital facilities and services to patients and family members when escorting people to rooms or other hospital areas.
• Provide a courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity are always maintained.
• Provide security for the facility as required within each specific hospital, ensuring compliance of security processes and external patrols are covered as appropriate to the hospital.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Front line customer facing experience.
• Previous portering experience in a healthcare, hotel or hospitality setting would be beneficial.
• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
