Job summary

Circle Health Group in Carmarthen is seeking a part-time Porter for a 30-hour week on a flexible shift pattern. You will move patients, equipment and goods, assist with directions around the site, and ensure patient comfort and dignity while providing courteous service to staff and visitors.

Front-line customer-facing experience is preferred; portering experience in healthcare or hospitality is beneficial. GCSE Maths and English at A-C, plus PC literacy, are required.

• Proficiency in PC use and basic software.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a range of general and ad hoc tasks to meet site needs.

• Provide security for the facility as required within each hospital.

Job description

This is a part time role for 30 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Duties of this role include:

• Undertake a range of general and ad hoc tasks on a day-to-day basis to meet the requirements of the site such as patient, equipment, and goods (e.g., pharmacy goods) movement.
• Explain hospital facilities and services to patients and family members when escorting people to rooms or other hospital areas.
• Provide a courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity are always maintained.
• Provide security for the facility as required within each specific hospital, ensuring compliance of security processes and external patrols are covered as appropriate to the hospital.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training. Front line customer facing experience.
• Previous portering experience in a healthcare, hotel or hospitality setting would be beneficial.
• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
