Job summary

Haven is hiring a Pool Shift Leader to head assigned shifts, ensuring safety and high guest service. You’ll lead a team, enforce rules, and maintain standards across the pool area.

Ideal candidates bring Lifeguard leadership experience, strong communication, and a commitment to safety. Weekend/evening availability is required, with enhanced DBS checks prior to starting.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Lifeguard or supervisor in leisure settings.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
• Willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
• Desirable: NPLQ, SPTO, and NPLQ TA qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the team by assigning tasks and motivating performance.
• Enforce rules to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of pool equipment and facilities.
• Provide professional guest service and address complaints or requests.
• Assist in training new team members on policies and procedures.
• Step up as shift leader during assigned periods.

Position: Pool Shift Leader Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Seasonal Pay Rates: Up to £13.71 per hour

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of an energetic team, leading assigned shifts with clear direction and plenty of motivation. You’ll inspire the team to provide fantastic guest experiences and high-quality standards. Plus, you'll make sure everything stays safe, compliant, and on point with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the team by assigning tasks, ensuring smooth workflow, and motivating the team to deliver excellent service.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations to promote a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of pool equipment and facilities.
• Provide prompt, professional guest service, addressing complaints and special requests.
• Assist in training new team members on company policies and procedures.
• Participate in team duties while stepping up as the shift leader when assigned.

Requirements

• Experience as a Senior Lifeguard, Team Leader, or Supervisor in a leisure, sports or activities setting is preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Highly detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to conducting thorough safety checks, ensuring full compliance with all safety guidelines.
• Ability to maintain focus and act quickly in emergency situations.
• Committed to providing high‑quality, customer‑focused service.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
• Swimming Pool Technical Operator Qualification (SPTO)
• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification Training Assessor (NPLQ TA)

This opportunity requires the new candidate to undergo, and satisfactorily complete, an Enhanced DBS check prior to starting work.
