Job Description:

Our client base spans over 600 organizations, including major corporations, financial services firms, and public sector bodies, all relying on our expertise to navigate the political landscape.

As a Political Data Executive, you will be at the heart of our data operations, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and growth of our political datasets. Working closely with our tech and policy teams, you’ll be responsible for maintaining core data systems, sourcing new data, and contributing to innovative sentiment-based products. This is a key role for someone passionate about political data and eager to play a crucial part in the evolution of our data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Data Integrity & Maintenance

  • Monitor and ensure the integrity, completeness, and reliability of our core datasets, including those related to politicians, councillors, and civil servants.
  • Collaborate with tech and policy teams to resolve any data-related issues and ensure seamless data flow across systems.
  • Maintain clear documentation of data sources, processes, and quality standards.
  • Continuously improve workflows and data architecture to enhance data quality and efficiency.

Data Sourcing & Expansion

  • Identify new and relevant data sources to enrich our product offering.
  • Utilize web scraping tools to gather political stakeholder publications and expand dataset coverage.
  • Troubleshoot issues in data pipelines and contribute to scaling the sourcing infrastructure.

Product & Sentiment Development

  • Assist in the development and launch of sentiment-driven data products.
  • Support the development and consistency of sentiment scoring methodologies across datasets.
  • Collaborate with product managers to ensure that data structures meet analytical needs.

Collaboration with Policy Team

  • Develop a solid understanding of British politics and Parliament to provide valuable insights to the policy team.
  • Communicate key parliamentary developments to clients through emails and updates.
  • Address any queries from the policy team promptly and effectively.

Your Experience & Knowledge

  • 1–3 years of experience in a similar data-focused role.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Tableau; familiarity with additional data analysis tools is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of political landscapes, particularly UK or EU public affairs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with large or complex datasets.
  • Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) or sentiment analysis tools.
  • Exposure to APIs, web scraping, and data integration processes.
