Job summary

Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting an Assistant Practitioner (Band 4) for the Podiatry Service in Cannock. The role involves managing a delegated caseload, delivering podiatry treatments and patient-focused care in clinic and home visits.

You will work under indirect supervision of podiatrists, support care plans, complete assessments, and help drive service development and audit within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Completed Royal College of Podiatry Assistant Practitioner Training Programme (Level 3)
• NVQ Level 3, BTEC National Diploma Level 3 or equivalent experience
• Willingness to undertake Level 5 Foundation degree in relevant subject such as Assistant Practitioner Higher Apprenticeship Level 5

Responsibilities

• Deliver delegated podiatry treatments and care plans.
• Provide nail and skin care including delegated sharp debridement.
• Undertake diabetic foot screening, vascular and neurological assessments.
• Complete ABPI and TBPI assessments after training and competency sign-off.
• Provide dressings and support wound care plans as directed by a Podiatrist.
• Issue and review orthotic and offloading interventions per treatment plans.
• Deliver foot health education and self-management advice.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and activity data.
• Support service development, audit and quality improvement activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team.
