Job summary

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Assistant Practitioner (Band 4) to deliver podiatry care in clinic and home settings. You will support Podiatrists with assessments, treatments, and education, while developing clinical skills and contributing to quality outcomes for Staffordshire and surrounding areas.

You will work under indirect supervision, manage a delegated caseload, and help with documentation, service development and patient-centred care initiatives.

Qualifications

• Completed Royal College of Podiatry Assistant Practitioner Training Programme (Level 3).
• NVQ Level 3, BTEC National Diploma Level 3 or equivalent.
• Willingness to undertake Level 5 Foundation degree in relevant subject.
• Level 5 foundation degree or Level 4/5 Podiatry Degree or Apprenticeship (Level5).

Responsibilities

• Provide management, treatment and foot health education in clinic and domiciliary settings.
• Deliver nail and skin care, including sharp debridement as directed.
• Undertake diabetic foot screening, vascular and neurological checks.
• Perform ABPI and TBPI tests under supervision.
• Fit bespoke insoles and apply dressings per care plan.
• Assist with audits, service development and data recording.
• Support students on placements within scope of role.
• Deliver person-centred care in line with Trust policies.
