Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust will welcome a Band 3 Podiatry Assistant to support ongoing foot care across North Cumbria. You will assist podiatrists, perform delegated foot care, and help with nail surgeries while coordinating care across clinics, homes, and residential settings.

The role emphasizes patient education, data recording, and stock maintenance within NHS guidelines. Eligibility includes care certificates, and DBS checks may apply.

Qualifications

Care Certificate or willingness to undertake it.
GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
Undertaking or willingness to complete recognised Podiatry Assistant qualification or NVQ based equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provide delegated podiatric/foot care to patients.
Assist with vascular assessments using specialist equipment.
Provide basic wound care under supervision of a podiatrist.
Prepare and assist the podiatrist during nail surgery.
Renewal of palliative/functional insoles or silicone devices.
Support registered podiatrists in high-risk clinics.
Refer patients to podiatrist when specialist treatment is needed.
