Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) at a welcoming school in Nuneaton. You will work with teaching staff and specialists to help students access lessons, develop communication skills and become as independent as possible.

This role offers 1:1 or small-group support, personalised learning, and collaboration with parents and therapists.

Qualifications

• Experience with PMLD, complex SEND, autism, or related settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised support on 1:1 or small-group basis.
• Help pupils participate in classroom activities and sensory learning.
• Support communication through visual resources, symbols, objects and other specialist approaches.
• Encourage independence and life skills development.
• Provide assistance with mobility and personal care when necessary.
• Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and helping them feel safe and confident.
• Follow individual education, behaviour and care plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, parents and other support staff.
• Create an engaging, positive and inclusive learning environment.
