Job summary

Philosophy Education LTD. in Bromley is seeking a SEND Teacher to join a specialist school supporting pupils with PMLD and complex needs across KS1–KS4. You will plan personalized lessons, use sensory-based approaches, and work with a multidisciplinary team to promote communication and independence.

The role is full-time, 8:30am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday, with a supportive environment and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching pupils with PMLD, SLD, or complex SEND needs.
Strong understanding of sensory curriculum approaches and personalised learning.
Experience working within a specialist SEND setting.
Knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour support, and supporting pupils with complex medical and physical needs.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to teaching.

Responsibilities

Planning and delivering engaging, personalized lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with PMLD.
Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes communication, engagement, and independence.
Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families, and external professionals to support pupil development.
Leading and coordinating a multidisciplinary approach to meeting pupils’ educational, physical, communication, and personal care needs.
Monitoring and assessing progress against EHCP outcomes and individual learning targets.
Using a range of communication approaches, including AAC, sensory strategies, and intensive interaction.
Contributing to annual reviews, reports, and professional meetings.
