Job summary

Metro Rod is seeking a Reactive Plumbing & Drainage Engineer to cover the Deeside and North Wales region, including Bangor and surrounding areas. The role focuses on plumbing works with support for drainage call-outs and blockages, with opportunities to train in leak detection.

This is a full-time permanent position with an on-call rota and overtime paid at 1.5x; a branded company vehicle is provided, and there are clear progression paths within Franchise Brands.

Qualifications

• Essential: Proven plumbing experience.
• Must have a Full UK driving license.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Positive and proactive approach to work and customer service.
• Willingness and interest in learning drainage services.
• Able to participate in an on‑call rota system.

Responsibilities

• Carry out plumbing works and support reactive drainage call-outs and blockages.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a plumbing-focused engineer who is flexible, eager to learn, and interested in developing additional specialist skills within the drainage and leak detection industry.

The successful candidate will primarily carry out plumbing works but will also be expected to support reactive drainage call‑outs, blockage clearances, and related works as part of a varied day‑to‑day role.

This role also forms part of an on‑call rota, with overtime paid at 1.5x standard hourly rate.

There will be opportunities for further training and progression into specialist leak detection services.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

We are looking for a competent Plumbing Engineer who is used to reactive work. Ideally we require an NVQ Level 2 however are open to someone with time‑served experience as an alternative.
