Job summary

Cambridge Housing Society is seeking a Plumber Multi Skilled Trade to join Fortem Repairs and Maintenance. The role covers social housing properties across North Cambridgeshire, including Cambridge Central, Peterborough and Wisbech, requiring Unvented G3 and basic carpentry skills with a full UK driving license and DBS check.

Core hours are Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm with a company van, fuel card, tools provided and an on-call rota.

Qualifications

• NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent in Plumbing.
• Unvented G3 qualified and able to change Cylinders, carry out bath and WC installations.
• Full UK driving license (Max 5 points) and no recent driving bans.
• Must be able to pass basic DBS check.
• Desirable: Social Housing experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete full plumbing and basic carpentry repairs for social housing properties to specification and deadlines.
• Use Unvented Cylinders knowledge and advise supervisor when other trades are required.
• Collaborate with other operatives to complete projects.
• Record and submit accurate data using business systems and devices.
• Provide excellent customer service to tenants and client representatives.
• Arrange purchase of materials needed to deliver works efficiently.
• Comply with safeguarding and H&S standards at all times.
• Follow company road risk policies and procedures.
• Use a PDA to update progress and completion information daily.

The Role

Due to continued successful growth, We have a new permanent opportunity to join our Fortem Repairs and Maintenance team at Cambridge Housing Society as a Plumber Multi Skilled Trade which uses core Plumbing skills, You will need to be Unvented G3 qualified and have basic Carpentry.

The Plumber Multi Trade will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties covering a patch across North Cambridgeshire which include Cambridge Central, Peterborough and Wisbech and surrounding areas so travel is essential.

Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm - Work Van, Fuel card Tools provided! + Generous ON CALL rota

The Customer

Cambridge Housing Society is one of our long term partnerships. We are responsible for all repairs and maintenance of their social housing properties which cover the Cambridgeshire region Head office is based in Central Cambridge and the patch includes surrounding areas from Wisbech, Royston and Haverhill. There are nearly 3,000 properties, mostly houses and flats, and we look after a range of work including Repairs, Voids, Cyclical Works and Planned workstreams

Duties and Responsibilities

• Completing Full Plumbing and basic Carpentry repairs work for all social housing properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines.
• Using Plumbing knowledge of Unvented Cylinders and all plumbing repairs work whilst advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required.
• Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
• Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices.
• Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants.
• Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
• Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times.
• Operating within the company's occupational road risk policies and procedures
• Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.

What you will need

Essential Criteria:

• NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent in Plumbing/ OR Qualified by experience will be considered
• UnventedG3 qualified and able to change Cylinders, carry out bath and WC installations
• Full UK driving license (Max 5 points) and no recent driving bans
• Must be able to pass basic DBS check

Desirable but not essential:

• Social Housing experience
