Job summary

Fortem are seeking a permanent Electrician to join our repairs and maintenance team at Orbit Housing, covering Stratford-upon-Avon and surrounding areas. Travel and a full UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical (2356) with AM2 portfolio or equivalent qualifications.
• C&G 18th Edition Certificate.
• Full UK driving license with less than 6 points and no recent driving bans.
• Must be able to pass a Basic DBS Check.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of work, aiming for first-time fix within budget and time constraints.
• Carry out maintenance and repairs on electrical services to a high standard with minimal supervision.
• Install, service and maintain electrical systems and appliances in accordance with the current Edition of The IET Wiring Regulations.
• Install, repair, inspect and test electrical installations and fill in the appropriate Electrical Certificate or Electrical Condition Report.
• Carry out EICRs and remedial upgrades to properties.
• Complete reactive maintenance work as per the specification.
• Advise Supervisor promptly when other trades are required.
• Work in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
• Complete daily worksheets detailing work undertaken and materials used after each job undertaken.
• Provide excellent customer service to both tenants and clients.

The Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a permanent Electrician to join us on our responsive repairs and maintenance team at the Orbit Housing branch.

This will be covering a patch of social housing properties across Stratford upon Avon and surrounding areas, therefore travel will be part of this role and a full UK driving licence is essential.

The core working hours are Monday to Friday :30pm

We provide a competitive salary + Company Van, Fuel card and Power Tools.+ Generous paying ON CALL Rota (Approx. 1 week in every 5-6 weeks)

The Customer

Fortem's contract with Orbit Housing covers over 17,000 properties across Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Nuneaton, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Bedford. We have multiple workstreams, including Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works and Re-Roofing.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Electrician's duties and responsibilities will include the following:

• Taking ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs whilst remaining within budget and time parameters.
• Carry out all aspects of maintenance and repairs on all electrical engineering services as required, ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of Supervision.
• Installing, servicing and maintaining electrical systems and appliances in accordance with the current Edition of The IET Wiring Regulations
• Installation, repair, inspect & test electrical installations and have the ability to fill in correctly, the appropriate Electrical Certificate or Electrical Condition Report
• Carry out EICRs and remedial upgrades to properties.
• Completing reactive maintenance work as per the specification.
• Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required.
• Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
• Completing daily work sheets detailing work undertaken and materials used after each job undertaken.
• Provide excellent customer service to both tenants and clients.

What you will need

Essential criteria:

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical (2356) with AM2 portfolio to support your experience (not just EAL) This can be a combination of C&G 2360 Part 1&2 Electrotechnical Competences plus the NVQ 3 Certificate 2356 with Technical Certs L2&3 plus the NVQ 3 Certificate or just the NVQ 3 2356 certificate
• C&G 18th Edition Certificate
• Full UK driving license with less than 6 points and no recent driving bans
• Must be able to pass a Basic DBS Check

Desirable:

• Unvented Hot Water Certificate Water Regulations Certificate Part P
• JIPB H&S Test Certificate with Current JIBP card
• Testing & Inspecting Certificate 2391 or C&G 2377
• PAT Certificate
