Job summary

Amey is offering a permanent Plumber role at HMP Sudbury as part of the Ministry of Justice facilities management work. The position covers routine and non-routine maintenance, mains water supply repairs, fault finding and making good faults, along with inspections, water sampling and risk assessment.

The base salary ranges from £30,866 to £36,135 depending on experience, with a 39-hour week on a 3-week rota and a 1 in 3 weekend requirement (with a 15% additional allowance).

Qualifications

  • NVQ level 2 in Plumbing and Heating is required.
  • Experience operating light plant is required.
  • Legionella awareness or compliance is desirable.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is required.
  • Experience in a commercial environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Plumber in HMP Sudbury.

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week. Staff are required to work on a 3-week rota basis between 08.00 – 17.00 (early finishes on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). There will be a need to work 1 in 3 weekends, but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).

The base salary is between £30,866 - £36,135 dependant on experience.

What You Will Do
  • Routine and non-routine maintenance.
  • Mains water supply repairs.
  • Fault finding Identification of life expired equipment, checking, repairing and making good faults.
  • Inspections, water sampling and risk assessment.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role.
What You Will Bring
  • NVQ level 2 in Plumbing and Heating with experience in plumbing maintenance
  • Experience in operating light plant
  • Legionella awareness and compliance is desirable
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience in a commercial environment
