Job summary

SC Engineering Group in Haslingden, Lancashire, is seeking a Controls Engineer focused on PLC software development for bespoke automation and machinery projects. The role is predominantly office-based with minimal travel and involves developing, programming and supporting PLC control systems using Siemens and Allen‑Bradley platforms.

Qualifications

Proven PLC programming experience with Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley.
Experience in automation, machinery or SP machinery environments.
Ability to develop PLC software from scratch.
Knowledge of HMI development and industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

Develop and program PLC software using Siemens and Allen-Bradley platforms.
Design, develop and modify control software for automated machinery.
Work with Siemens TIA Portal and Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 / RSLogix.
Develop and integrate HMI systems.
Carry out software testing, debugging and troubleshooting.
Work closely with electrical design, mechanical and project engineering teams.
Support machinery commissioning and occasional customer site visits.
Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
