Job summary
Vantage Consulting Limited in Nottingham is seeking a highly skilled Controls Software Engineer to join our software team. The role focuses on designing, programming, and commissioning PLC control systems from scratch using Allen Bradley/Rockwell and Mitsubishi PLCs.
You will work on the full project lifecycle, collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers, and support installation on site while travelling for commissioning when required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience designing and programming PLC systems from scratch.
- Strong experience with Allen Bradley/Rockwell and/or Mitsubishi PLCs.
- Solid understanding of industrial automation and HMI/SCADA development.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Willingness to travel for commissioning and on-site support when required.
Responsibilities
- Develop, program, and implement PLC control systems from the ground up.
- Work on the full project lifecycle, from initial concept, design, and development through to testing, commissioning, and support.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical and mechanical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
- Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization of PLC programs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
- Provide technical documentation, including system specifications, user manuals, and test procedures.
- Support installation and commissioning activities on site as required.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in PLC technology and industrial automation.
