Job summary

Wave Recruitment is seeking an automation controls engineer to own the controls side of new automated equipment from PLC code through commissioning and after-sales support. Based in Callington, you will work with a small team and travel to UK sites for installation and breakdown support.

You will program PLCs across Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi and Siemens, perform FAT in factory, and handle on-site commissioning and remote fault-finding. A practical hands-on approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Commercial controls experience in the food and/or pharmaceutical sector, working with production equipment.
• Fluent PLC development on Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or Siemens and comfortable moving between platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own the controls side of new automated equipment from PLC code through to commissioning and after-sales support.
• Work with sales and design on scoping and quoting.
• Factory-based in Callington with UK customer visits for installation, commissioning or breakdown cover; travel to other sites as needed.
• Perform FAT commissioning in the factory and on-site commissioning at customer facilities; remote fault-finding and support.
• Contribute to design of new and existing automated equipment and shape competitive automation solutions for new enquiries.
