Job summary

Vantage Consulting is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to design, program and commission PLC control systems from scratch using Allen Bradley/Rockwell and Mitsubishi PLCs in a Nottingham-based team. The role covers the full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning, with hybrid working (2 days in the office).

You will collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers, create comprehensive documentation, and stay up-to-date with PLC technology and industrial automation trends.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing PLC systems from scratch.
• Strong experience with Allen Bradley/Rockwell and Mitsubishi PLCs.
• Solid understanding of industrial automation and HMI/SCADA development.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Responsibilities

Control Systems Engineer

My client is seeking a highly skilled Controls Software Engineer to join their software team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the full project lifecycle, taking projects from concept through to completion. You will be responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning PLC control systems from scratch using Allen Bradley/Rockwell and/or Mitsubishi PLCs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, program, and implement PLC control systems from the ground up.
• Work on the full project lifecycle, from initial concept, design, and development through to testing, commissioning, and support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical and mechanical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
• Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization of PLC programs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
• Provide technical documentation, including system specifications, user manuals, and test procedures.
• Support installation and commissioning activities on-site as required.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in PLC technology and industrial automation.
