Job summary

Vantage Consulting is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to design, program and commission PLC control systems from scratch using Allen Bradley/Rockwell and Mitsubishi PLCs in a Nottingham-based team. The role covers the full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning, with hybrid working (2 days in the office).

You will collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers, create comprehensive documentation, and stay up-to-date with PLC technology and industrial automation trends.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing PLC systems from scratch.
• Strong experience with Allen Bradley/Rockwell and Mitsubishi PLCs.
• Solid understanding of industrial automation and HMI/SCADA development.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop, program, and implement PLC control systems from the ground up.
• Oversee full project lifecycle from concept through testing and commissioning.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers for system integration.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize PLC programs.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Produce system documentation, specifications, and test procedures.
• Support installation and commissioning on-site as required.
• Stay current with PLC technology and automation trends.
