Job summary

BOXPARK Croydon seeks a Playbox Manager with a background in competitive socialising to lead a small team and activate the leisure and entertainment offerings for PLAYBOX Croydon. You will oversee supervisors, bar and floor staff, and take ownership of sales, guest experience and financial results.

You will ensure high standards, manage day-to-day operations, and work with marketing and sales teams to increase revenue while maintaining exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.

This is a competitive socialising platform which includes electric shuffle, interactive darts, arcades and even its own karaoke rooms!

PLAYBOX is a brand new, competitive socialising concept set within our very own BOXPARK Croydon. This is a site-based operations role that requires flexibility and the need for the right candidate to think on their feet and have strong experience in competitive socialising concepts.

The Role:

We are looking for a Playbox Manager with a background in competitive socialising to lead a small team to activate the leisure and entertainment offerings for BOXPARK. You will manage a team of supervisors, bar and floor staff to drive standards and the guest experience. You will take full accountability and ownership of the sales, guest experience and financial results of PLAYBOX Croydon.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee every stage of the guest journey from the booking process to time spent within the space, ensuring the guests have a great experience at every step.

Work within the company budgets relating to drink sales, labour & consumables.

To ensure the standard of service and guest experience is being delivered by the whole team.

Overseeing day-to-day operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities.

Manage all aspects of the gaming service within the premises to anticipate and exceed guest expectations.

Works closely with stake holders within BOXPARK such as the marketing team on promotional strategies to increase revenue and the Head of Events and the sales team on strategies to increase corporate sales within the unit.

Troubleshooting and maintaining the equipment, ensuring issues are logged and actioned swiftly to minimise disruption.

Knowledge of local regulations related to food safety, hygiene, and general health and safety practices.

The ideal Candidate for this role will:

Have an in depth knowledge of leisure offerings from a competitive socialising background.

Have a proven track record of managing teams in a hospitality environment

Be confident, articulate and presentable.

Be well trained with a good understanding of H&S and due diligence

Be honest, reliable and hard-working

Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Have strong motivational and people skills and be able to build good working relationships with work colleagues
