Job summary

BT Group is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a Platform Engineering team in the UK. You will guide platform services, developer tooling, and automation to enable thousands of engineers to build, deploy and operate software at scale.

You will combine strong people leadership with an engineering background to ensure reliable, scalable platform capabilities and to support BT’s digital transformation across multiple UK sites.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with cloud experience.
• Experience building cloud-native platforms or developer tooling.
• Proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams in hands-on role.

Responsibilities

• Manages platform engineers to deliver high-quality platform services.
• Oversees platform architecture and tooling decisions with long-term sustainability.
• Leads Agile delivery and prioritises platform backlog with Product Owner.
• Drives platform adoption and reduces developer friction.
