BT is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build and operate resilient infrastructure platforms across on-site locations in Cheltenham, Ipswich, London and Manchester. The role focuses on automation, security and performance in large-scale environments, with Dar clearance required.

The team collaborates with architecture, security and software engineering to deliver modern platform solutions, while maintaining robust documentation and engineering practices for continual improvement.

Note: To apply for this role you must already hold the relevantDV Security Clearance.This job role can be based in Ipswich, London or Manchester. Due to security requirements, this role requires you to be located on site during your working hours.Mon-Fri 37.5.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, build, support and continuously improve infrastructure platforms that enable critical services.

Desirable Skills / Experience

We welcome candidates from a broad range of infrastructure and platform engineering backgrounds.

Experience in some of the following areas would be advantageous:

• Linux and/or Windows enterprise operating systems.
• Infrastructure and platform operations.
• Cloud and/or on-premises environments.
• Automation and Infrastructure as Code.
• Scripting and software development.Virtualisation and container-based platforms.
• Networking and platform security concepts.
• Monitoring, observability and operational tooling.
• DevOps, Platform Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering practices.
• Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
