OnCommerce is seeking a Head of Platform Engineering to lead the day-to-day performance and long-term evolution of our engineering function, spanning the current platform and its transformation to a modern, composable architecture.
The Head of Platform Engineering owns engineering delivery, operational resilience, and standards across all squads, ensuring strong processes translate into reliable services and high-performing teams.
Qualifications
- Proven track record leading engineering transformations while maintaining live platform performance.
- Strong experience with Laravel/PHP and microservices.
- Experience delivering secure, scalable cloud-based architectures.
- Strong API design and system architecture experience.
- Experience with MySQL, Redis, and NoSQL databases.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day performance and long-term evolution of the engineering function.
- Balance live operations with platform transformation.
- Set engineering standards and governance across squads.
- Lead and develop engineering capability across teams.
- Drive incident management and operational resilience.
- Collaborate with Transformation Lead and Solution Architecture Leads.
