Harnham - Data and Analytics Recruitment in London is seeking a Platform Engineer to own core platform engineering on cloud infrastructure, delivering scalable systems with substantial autonomy and technical influence. You will work closely with the founding team to shape the product and deployment strategy.

The role offers hybrid working from London, significant ownership, and the chance to contribute to a fast-growing AI infrastructure product with equity potential.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building and operating platforms in production environments.
• Background in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Python and backend development.
• Familiarity with containerisation, infrastructure as code and modern deployment practices.
• Commercial mindset with ownership and curiosity.
• Experience in early-stage or scaling environments.
• Ideally 5-12 years' experience.
• STEM or Computer Science background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain a core platform running on cloud-based infrastructure.
• Develop and improve deployment processes to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Build and manage services operating within distributed systems.
• Contribute to backend development using Python and relational databases.
• Work closely with the founding team to solve complex technical challenges and influence the product roadmap.
