Job summary

CreatePay in the UK is hiring a hands‑on Platform Engineer to own and evolve the cloud infrastructure the payments platform runs on. You will implement and maintain AWS resources, CI/CD pipelines, and observability, while balancing reliability, cost, and performance.

This is the first dedicated platform hire, offering a clear path to scale the function with the business. You will work closely with Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Security, and partners to define discipline, practices,

Qualifications

• 2–5 years hands‑on platform, infrastructure, or DevOps experience (junior to mid‑level).
• Experience with core AWS infrastructure tooling and infrastructure as code.
• Ability to design for high availability, observability, and cost control.
• Practical, first‑principles approach; able to explain decisions to engineers and non‑technical audiences.
• Experience working with or alongside outsourced engineering teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provision, configure, and harden AWS environments using infrastructure as code.
• Maintain separation and consistency across development, staging, and production.
• Own capacity planning and cost management across the AWS estate.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines enabling safe, frequent releases.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting; manage data pipelines and backups for Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Act as first responder for infrastructure incidents and coordinate patching and lifecycle management.
