Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Platform Engineer for Manchester in a permanent, hybrid role with on-site presence required for at least 3 days per week. You will deploy applications to cloud or on-prem environments, build dev tools, and drive secure, automated release processes.

Candidate must be eligible for SC and eDV clearance and work within our cybersecurity-focused National Security Cyber teams to deliver mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery experience.
• Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure).
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
• Experience building and deploying large-scale applications in CI/CD pipelines.
• Container platforms and orchestration systems (ECS, AKS, Kubernetes/helm/Docker).
• Automation and integration tools (Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents).
• Scripting languages and source control experience.

Role & Responsibilities

• Work as a Platform Engineer, deploying applications and software to cloud or on-prem environments for our many business areas.

• Building and setting up development tools and infrastructure


• Understand the needs of project stakeholders


• Automate and improve development and release processes


• Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cyber security threats


• Identify technical problems and develop software updates and solutions


• Work with other engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

Required Experience

• Experience of working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery model


• Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)


• Infrastructure as code e.g. Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc.


• Experience in building and deploying large-scale applications in Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines


• Container platform and orchestration systems ECS, AKS, Kubernetes/helm/Docker


• Experience in automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents


• Experience in scripting languages and source control
