Job summary

Places for People is hiring a qualified Plasterer to deliver plastering repairs across occupied homes, voids and communal areas in our housing schemes. You’ll work in a defined patch, using a company van and following supervisor instructions to maintain quality and safety standards.

You'll join a team focused on consistent workload and customer service, with benefits including a company van, annual leave and a pension, plus a scheme that recognises performance. DBS where applicable.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Plastering.
• Experience working as a plasterer, ideally in social housing or domestic properties.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to work across the advertised patch.

Responsibilities

• Carry out plastering repairs across domestic properties and communal areas.
• Complete general plastering work in line with specifications and supervisor instructions.
• Conduct pre and post inspections and record outcomes.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out plastering repairs across domestic properties and communal areas
• Completing general plastering work in line with specifications and supervisor instructions
• Conducting pre and post inspections and recording outcomes
• Working to specifications and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements
• Collaborating with supervisors, schedulers, and wider teams to meet deadlines
• Recording work activity and completing required documentation
• Supporting apprentices and contributing to team performance and KPIs

What your day looks like

• A structured schedule covering repairs and maintenance work
• Travelling between jobs in your company van
• Working independently or with a team of other tradespeople
• Engaging directly with Customers in their homes
• Completing work efficiently while maintaining quality and compliance standards

Where you'll work

You will be working across:

• Occupied homes
• Empty (void) properties
• Communal areas within housing schemes
• Environments involving vulnerable Customers

Essential Criteria (you need to meet all of these to be shortlisted)

• NVQ Level 2 or City and Guilds in Plastering
• Experience working as a Plasterer, ideally within social housing or domestic properties
• Full UK driving licence
• Due to the area this patch covers, you will need to be based within the advertised postcode

Nice to have (not essential)

• Experience supervising or mentoring apprentices
• Additional Level 2 trade qualification
