Job summary

GAP Group in Reading is seeking a Hire & Sales Coordinator to support a busy hire desk within our Plant & Tool division. You will manage hire requests, coordinate logistics, and deliver exceptional service to customers and suppliers in a fast-paced depot environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a high-volume hire desk, strong customer service skills, and a proactive, sales-oriented mindset. Training and career progression are available within a growing business.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-volume hire desk or similar fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service with a commercial edge and sales drive.
• Strong communication and organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Confident IT skills, including Outlook and Excel.
• Able to work in a team or independently with initiative.
• Experience in plant & tool hire is a bonus, with willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Managing incoming and outgoing hires per day across plant and tool equipment.
• Processing hire desk administration and handling customer and supplier queries quickly.
• Ensuring stock levels meet demand and identifying sales opportunities.
• Coordinating with drivers and fitters for timely deliveries and collections.
• Resolving customer complaints and supplier issues professionally and efficiently.
