Job description

Purpose of the role

To work closely with the other team members in producing concrete in a safe, clean environment and to ensure the best possible customer service is always achieved. To be responsible for the first impression regarding the cleanliness of the yard, plant, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the Order Office, plant staff, and customers to ensure that concrete/mortar production meets customer requirements, maintaining quality, standards, and efficiency as per procedures and technical instructions.
  • Regularly inspect and perform routine maintenance on plant equipment, ensuring cleanliness of machinery, plant area, buildings, and facilities in accordance with instructions.
  • Manage waste disposal, water discharges, and dust emissions following environmental procedures.
  • Ensure sufficient materials are available for production demands.
  • Inspect incoming materials and conduct weekly visual stock checks.
  • Ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors adhere to safety instructions.
  • Review and improve work methods and plant utilization to optimize resources.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation, including the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, and company policies.
  • Update knowledge regularly and attend training to maximize effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Operate batching plant and FEL equipment to company standards, maintaining site presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the site and facilities.
  • Accurately batch concrete/mortar when trained, ensuring proper stock levels.
  • Report defects or hazards affecting safety, environment, or quality.
  • Ensure compliance with policies on health & safety, environment, quality control, and fraud prevention.
