Job summary

Stericycle is seeking a dedicated Plant/Processing Operations team member at its Knowsley site to assist with daily intake, treatment and disposal of clinical waste. You will help maximize plant availability and productivity while following company procedures and legislative requirements.

Key duties include unloading vehicles, weighing waste, maintaining accurate records and coordinating deliveries. The role may involve forklift operation, participation in plant shutdowns and strict compliance

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Unloading of vehicles and trailers (site specific).
• The effective manoeuvring of waste on the plant and weighing of containers.
• To ensure that the waste containers are emptied, cleaned thoroughly and readily available in a suitable ‘empty’ storage area ready for collection.
• To co-ordinate the paperwork and reception of all deliveries to the plant, including that of suppliers and contractors.
• To oversee the safe handling into containers by the respective deliverer, in the event loose waste is delivered to the site
• Operate fork Lift truck if required
• To participate in plant shutdowns as necessary.
• To maintain company operational records and data, specific to the job function
• To draw attention to Management any major defects, concerns or problems to the equipment or building, prior to actioning.
• To work under the directions of and assist the Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager in his or her duties in the event of a breakdown or controlled stoppage.
• To observe and comply with all safety notice and signs and to ensure that all work is carried out in a safe and proper manner at all times.
• To attend training courses or instruction specific to the job as required.
• Additional duties as necessary to ensure safe compliance and continuation of operations of the plant.
• To comply with company health & safety procedures.
