Job summary

Astute People is recruiting a Nights Plant Operator for its Winchester site in the UK. This on-site role offers a salary of £35,000–£37,500 plus performance bonus, overtime and progression opportunities.

You will monitor the anaerobic digestion plant, support the Plant Manager, maintain health and safety standards, and operate a Telehandler to feed the plant. Shift pattern is nights, Monday to Friday, with weekend rota as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in agricultural, production or process environments.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to work night shifts (approx. 8pm–4am).
• Telehandler licence or demonstrable Telehandler experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain safety standards.
• Flexibility to participate in a weekend rota, including occasional Saturday shifts.

Astute's Renewable's Team is partnering with key business and influential player in the UK Anaerobic Digestion sector, to recruit a Nights Plant Operator for its Winchester site.

This permanent role is on-site and offers up to £37,500 plus bonus, overtime and progression opportunities.

Responsibilities of the Nights Plant Operator

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will:

• Monitor the anaerobic digestion plant, ensuring optimal run time
• Support the Plant Manager to implement and achieve operational and personal targets
• Ensure that the plant is clean and tidy
• Feed the plant using a Telehandler
• Ensure that the extruders are running smoothly and attending to any issues
• Maintain all relevant site health, safety, quality and environmental standards
• Ensure that health and safety is adhered to at all times
• Perform visual checks of the plant, logging all findings
• Perform any housekeeping duties that need doing
• Other duties are required

Required qualifications and experience

To be considered, you must have:

• Experience working within an agricultural, production or process environment
• A valid Telehandler licence or demonstrable experience operating a Telehandler
• Experience maintaining high health and safety standards, including working independently with minimal supervision
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to work night shifts (approximately 8pm-4am, Monday to Friday)
• Flexible to participate in a weekend rota, including occasional Saturday shifts.

Desirable experience

It would be an advantage, but is not essential, to have:

• Experience working within an anaerobic digestion, biogas or similar process plant
• A recognised engineering qualification and previous experience working night shifts
