Job summary

Astute People is seeking a Biogas Site Operator for a site near Bury St Edmunds. The role involves hands-on operation and maintenance of an anaerobic digestion plant, with a 5 on 3 off day shift pattern and on-call duties. A driving licence and plant operator qualifications are essential.

The position offers a basic salary up to £35,000 plus discretionary bonus and a benefits package. Experience in agricultural or processing environments is highly valued, with a strong focus on health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Support with the day to day running of the anaerobic digestion plant
• Carry out basic first line maintenance, such as isolating and changing pumps
• Operate mobile plant, such as a telehandler or loading shovel
• Work on a 5 on 3 off day shift rotation
• Take part in the on-call rota
• Monitor the plant via the SCADA
• Keep the site clean and tidy
• Maintain high levels of health & safety
• Other duties as required

Job description

Astute's Renewables team is partnering with an established business within the biogas sector, who own and operate a portfolio of anaerobic digestion plants. They are looking to recruit an Operative for their site near Bury St Edmunds.

The Site Operative plays a vital part in ensuring the site is run correctly and high standards of health & safety are maintained. The role comes with a salary of up to £35,000 + discretionary bonus and excellent benefits package.

Responsibilities and duties of the Biogas Site Operator role

• Support with the day to day running of the anaerobic digestion plant
• Carrying out basic first line maintenance, such as isolating and changing pumps
• Operating mobile plant, such as a telehandler or loading shovel
• Working on a 5 on 3 off day shift rotation
• Take part in the on-call rota
• Monitoring the pant via the SCADA
• Keeping the site clean and tidy
• Maintaining high levels of health & safety
• Other duties as required

Professional qualifications

• Telehandler/Loading Shovel/Tractor Licence or in-house training is essential
• Engineering qualification/certificate is desired
• Full UK Driving Licence

Personal skills

• Previous operator experience in a similar processing environment
• Mobile plant experience
• First line maintenance experience
• Agricultural experience is highly desired
• Great work ethic
