Job summary

Astute People is seeking a Biogas Site Operator to join a busy site near Bury St Edmunds. You will report to the Plant Manager and help run the anaerobic digestion plant, ensuring safe, efficient operation and strict health and safety standards.

The role offers a basic salary up to £35,000, overtime and a discretionary bonus, plus a benefits package. Shift pattern is 5 on, 3 off days, with on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

• Previous operator experience in a similar processing environment.
• Mobile plant operation experience is essential.
• First line maintenance experience is required.
• Driving licence held and operationally ready in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day running of the anaerobic digestion plant.
• Carry out basic first line maintenance, e.g., pumps.
• Operate mobile plant such as telehandler or loading shovel.
• Work on a 5 on 3 off day shift rotation.
• Participate in on-call rota.
• Monitor the plant via SCADA.
• Keep the site clean and maintain health & safety standards.
• Carry out other duties as required.

Job description

Astute's Renewables team is partnering with an established business within the biogas sector, who own and operate a portfolio of anaerobic digestion plants. They are looking to recruit an Operative for their site near Bury St Edmunds.

The Site Operative plays a vital part in ensuring the site is run correctly and high standards of health & safety are maintained. The role comes with a salary of up to £35,000 + discretionary bonus and excellent benefits package

Responsibilities and duties of the Biogas Site Operator role

Reporting to the Plant Manager you will:

• Support with the day to day running of the anaerobic digestion plant
• Carrying out basic first line maintenance, such as isolating and changing pumps
• Operating mobile plant, such as a telehandler or loading shovel
• Working on a 5 on 3 off day shift rotation
• Take part in the on-call rota
• Monitoring the pant via the SCADA
• Keeping the site clean and tidy
• Maintaining high levels of health & safety
• Other duties as required

Professional qualifications

• Telehandler/Loading Shovel/Tractor Licence or in-house training is essential
• Engineering qualification/certificate is desired
• Full UK Driving Licence

Personal skills

• Previous operator experience in a similar processing environment
• Mobile plant experience
• First line maintenance experience
• Agricultural experience is highly desired
• Great work ethic
