Job summary

Tarmac is seeking an Operative at the Colchester DSM - Dry Silo Plant. You will work in an industrial environment, contributing to safety, production and quality. Training will be provided, with opportunities to develop operative and supervisory skills.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will meet daily targets, handle loading/unloading, and ensure timely vehicle turnaround while upholding high standards of housekeeping and data reporting for quality purposes.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial, factory or similar environment.
• Experience with forklift trucks or multi-skilled operative roles is preferred.
• Good communication skills and a desire to develop operative and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Report to Plant Manager and take ownership of activities to ensure safety, availability, production, and quality.
• Meet daily production targets.
• Report data for quality purposes.
• Move, load and unload product from plant and vehicles.
• Meet customer service requirements with accurate loading and timely vehicle turnaround.
• Drive continuous improvement of performance and production methods.
• Maintain good housekeeping.

We have an exciting opportunity here at our Tarmac Colchester DSM - Dry Silo Plant. We are currently looking for an Operative to join their team. Have you got what it takes to stand out? Main Responsibilities

• Reporting to our Plant Manager, the successful Operative will be responsible for actively participating and taking ownership of activities to ensure plant safety, plant availability, production output and quality.
• You will also take responsibility for:Meeting daily production target requirements
• Reporting of data for quality purposes
• Moving, loading and unloading product from the plant and vehicles
• Meeting customer service requirements in terms of accurate loading and timely vehicle turnaround
• Continuous Improvement of performance standards
• Continuous improvement towards plant and production methods
• Good housekeeping

The Ideal Candidate

• The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate previous experience working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment.
• Ideally we are looking for experience with the following Forklift Truck Operative, Multi-Skilled Operative or Labourer.
• Although training will be giving as well to the right person, as well as possess good communication skills and have a real desire in developing both operative and supervisory skills.
