Job summary

Tarmac Colchester DSM – Dry Silo Plant is seeking an Operative to join the team. The role focuses on ensuring plant safety, availability, production output and quality in a dynamic environment.

You'll report to the Plant Manager and help meet daily production targets, with opportunities to develop operative and supervisory skills while contributing to continuous improvement and efficient plant operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial or factory environment.
• Experience as forklift operator or multi-skilled operative.
• Good communication skills and desire to develop supervisory abilities.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily production target requirements and maintain output.
• Report data for quality purposes and ensure accurate records.
• Move, load and unload product from plant and vehicles.
• Meet customer service requirements with timely vehicle turnaround.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of performance standards.
• Pursue improvements in plant methods and production processes.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.

The successful candidate will report to the Plant Manager and be responsible for ensuring plant safety, plant availability, production output and quality.

Responsibilities

• Meeting daily production target requirements
• Reporting data for quality purposes
• Moving, loading and unloading product from the plant and vehicles
• Meeting customer service requirements in terms of accurate loading and timely vehicle turnaround
• Continuous improvement of performance standards
• Continuous improvement towards plant and production methods
• Good housekeeping

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within an industrial, factory or similar environment
• Experience as a forklift truck operative, multi‑skilled operative or labourer
• Good communication skills
• Desire to develop operative and supervisory skills
