Job summary

Samuel Frank is recruiting an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager / Plant Manager for a large manufacturing site in the Deeside/Chester area. You will lead electrical engineering across the plant, overseeing teams of Automation Technicians, Electrical Maintenance Engineers and HV Engineers.

This role owns plant reliability, maintenance performance, continuous improvement and electrical engineering standards within a major manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• A strong electrical engineering background within manufacturing, industrial, or process environments.
• Experience leading electrical maintenance teams, engineering personnel or multidisciplinary departments.
• Solid understanding of industrial electrical systems, maintenance, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the site's electrical engineering teams (Automation Technicians, Electrical Maintenance Engineers, HV Engineers).
• Manage electrical maintenance to maximise plant reliability, equipment availability and performance.
• Drive continuous improvement to improve efficiency, reliability, quality, and cost effectiveness.
• Lead health and safety performance and ensure compliance with site standards.
• Develop and implement strategic maintenance plans, RCA and asset management initiatives.
• Identify and implement electrical improvements to increase reliability and reduce downtime.
• Provide engineering support for capital investments, plant upgrades and equipment improvements.
• Control annual maintenance budget and expenditures.

Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager / Plant Manager to join a globally recognised manufacturing company at its large industrial site in the Deeside / Chester area.

The successful Electrical Engineering Manager will take responsibility for electrical engineering across the plant, leading teams of Automation Technicians, Electrical Maintenance Engineers and HV Engineers.

This is an opportunity for an experienced engineering leader with a strong electrical background to take ownership of plant reliability, maintenance performance, continuous improvement and electrical engineering standards within a major manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities of the Electrical Engineering Manager / Plant Manager include:

• Leading and developing the site's electrical engineering teams, including shift-based Automation Technicians, Electrical Maintenance Engineers and HV Engineering personnel.
• Managing electrical maintenance activities to maximise plant reliability, equipment availability and operational performance.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant efficiency, reliability, product quality and cost effectiveness.
• Leading the team's health and safety performance and ensuring compliance with site safety standards.
• Developing and implementing strategic maintenance plans, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and asset management initiatives.
• Identifying and implementing electrical engineering improvements to increase plant reliability and reduce equipment downtime.
• Providing engineering support for capital investment projects, plant upgrades and equipment improvements.
• Managing and controlling expenditure within the annual maintenance budget.

The successful Electrical Engineering Manager / Plant Manager will ideally have:

• A strong electrical engineering background gained within a manufacturing, industrial or process engineering environment.
• Experience managing electrical maintenance teams, engineering personnel or multidisciplinary engineering departments.
• A good understanding of industrial electrical systems, plant maintenance and engineering reliability.
• Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives and strategic maintenance programmes.
• Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis techniques and asset management processes.
• Experience managing engineering budgets, contractors and maintenance expenditure.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop engineering teams and drive improvements in safety and operational performance.
